The LEAPYEAR Retreat Campus
Named after Maacama Creek which runs through the property, our 11-acre rural campus is located 90 miles north of San Francisco in the heart of Sonoma County wine country. Maacama is where all LEAPYEAR retreats are held throughout the year until the Fall of 2018. Starting in September of 2018, LEAPYEAR retreats will be held in the Colorado Rockies at a beautiful 600-acre retreat center surrounded by rocky peaks and pin and aspen forests. We are very excited to upgrade the quality and scope of our retreat setting in the coming year.
CALIFORNIA "Maacama" Campus
The Maacama campus comfortably accommodates 38 students and 10 staff in 16 buildings - with a total of 16,000 square feet of bunkhouses, studios/classrooms, a large teaching kitchen, office spaces and staff housing. LEAPNOW has been at Maacama since 2002. Every building on the land has been improved and uplifted by the efforts of the past 23 LEAPYEAR groups, LEAPNOW interns, and LEAPYEAR2 students.
Though the feeling here is rural and quiet, Maacama is 20 minutes from the Sonoma County Airport in Santa Rosa, and 1.5 hours each from international airports in San Francisco, Oakland and Sacramento.
